On April 27, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) issued its recommended decision on two of the three reconsideration issues requested by the Postal Service.
The PRC agreed with the Postal Service's suggested pricing changes to the Priority Mail Flat Rate Box ( $8.95 instead of the $9.15 recommended by the PRC) and the Nonmachinable Surcharge to First-Class Letters.
What does this do to the May 14th rate implementation? It does not appear that the PRC will issue its decision prior to the May 14 effective date - so plan on the rates as initially recommended by the PRC to go into effect on May 14 and remain for a bit - at least several weeks until a decision is reached.
