New CASS Certified address matching software requirements go into effect each year on August 1. Cycle L CASS Certified software takes effect on
Software Vendors
New with CASS Cycle L, software vendors must integrate both the DPV and LACSLink technologies within the address matching software. This new requirement ensures that ZIP+ 4® codes will be assigned only when the primary number of the address can be validated using DPV, and the address reflects any applicable municipality conversion (such as 911 conversion) or other changes.
Mailers
Beginning August 1, mailers must use Cycle L CASS Certified software to process address lists for automation rate mailings. Mailers processing address lists through July 31 may use Cycle K CASS Certified software and still have 180 days to present these mailings.
Processing dates are shown on Form 3553, CASS Summary Report, as part of the summary output report process (see DMM 708.3.5). Remember, mailers are not required to submit Form 3553 with their mailings.
If mailers need additional information, please refer them to the CASS Certified software requirements at http://ribbs.usps.gov/doc/cmg.html. For questions, mailers may contact the National Customer Support Center CASS Certification department at 1-800-642-2914 or via e-mail at cassman.ncsc@usps.gov.
