Session: Digital Postal Mail - Cost-Effectively Solving Your E-Adoption Challenge
Frank Delfer - Executive VP, Technology, CTO, DST Output
John Payne - CEO, Zumbox

In this presentation, Delfer and Payne will discuss how mailers can dramatically increase e-adoption and corresponding paper suppression rates through digital postal mail. An alternative to traditional mail, digital postal mail uses the existing print stream to create a digital facsimile of paper mail. This mail is presented securely online in a recipient's Zumbox, which is based on his or her street address. Material and postage costs are among the biggest expenses to a company's customer communications, and as businesses have seen paperless adoption rates plateau, digital mail delivery is a cost-effective strategy for ensuring e-adoption.

Zumbox, the leader in digital postal mail services, provides a new and realistic paper suppression alternative that addresses the gap between US consumers who have already gone paperless (about 15 percent) and those who say they will never suppress paper (about 30 percent). The remaining 55 percent of consumers offer an opportunity for mailers to address more than $20 billion in direct print mail costs. With Zumbox, mailers send paper versions of bills, statements and other transactional mail, in parallel with the digital versions, until consumers opt out of receiving paper. This provides the reassurance consumers need to feel comfortable going paperless.

About: John Payne is an experienced technology industry CEO with a track record in the mailing, consumer and small business Internet services, enterprise software, network and application security, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and wireless industries.

He is the former Chairman and CEO of Stamps.com (NASDAQ: STMP), a profitable pioneering SaaS provider that leads the market for postage delivered over the Internet from the US Postal Service. While at Stamps.com, he led the development of the company's operating business, its $65 million IPO and a $365 million secondary offering co-managed by Goldman Sachs and Salomon Smith Barney.

Payne also led the prosecution of four portfolios of issued and pending patents at the US Patent and Trademark Office, and is the lead or co-inventor of multiple patents in those portfolios in Internet security, wireless messaging, mobile applications and social search.

Event details: Fusion 2011 will bring together members of three organizations: International Accounts Payable Professionals, International Accounts Receivable Professionals and The Association for Work Process Improvement. For more information on the event, visit www.iappnet.org.
