Knowledge@Wharton--Nearly half the world's mail is delivered by the United States Postal Service (USPS), a massive operation with 26,000 post offices and over half a million employees. Patrick Donahoe, postmaster general and chief executive officer of the USPS, is leading the postal service at a time when plummeting first-class mail volumes have triggered a financial crisis in the organization.
