Fierce Government--Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe voiced his support for establishing a chief innovation officer at the Postal Service during a hearing of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee July 17.

The position would be created under the Postal Reform Act of 2013 (H.R. 2748), introduced by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the committee chairman, on July 19. The language establishing the position came from a postal reform bill (H.R. 2690) that Rep. Elijah Cummings, the committee's ranking member, introduced July 16.
