The Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF), the non-profit organization dedicated to the document management and communications marketplace, announced the recipients of its 2006 EDSF Scholarships. Considered to be one of the foundation's most important industry programs, 45 EDSF scholarships were awarded to 42 students who demonstrated high achievement and a commitment to careers in the document management and communications arena. The 2006 scholarship recipients attend schools in the U.S., Canada and Nigeria.

The EDSF scholarship program recognizes and supports the vital role that education plays in the success of companies within the document management and communications marketplace worldwide. EDSF scholarships are presented to qualified students from around the globe who are preparing for careers in this growing and dynamic industry. In the past seven years, close to 200 scholarships have been awarded to students. The value of the awards range from: $1,000 to $5,000 and the average scholarship is $2,000.

"It can not be stressed enough that the students of today are the professionals, thinkers and innovators of tomorrow's document management and communication landscape. Our industry benefits significantly by supporting these outstanding individuals who are pursuing an education and career focused on documents," said Frank Romano, Chair of the EDSF Scholarship Selection Committee and Professor Emeritus, Rochester Institute of Technology. "It is worthwhile for the industry to unite in EDSF's efforts to promote education and help these students succeed. I am personally in awe of this year's scholarship recipients who demonstrate a high-level of enthusiasm and dedication to achievement."
