Durham, N.C., Sept. 8, 2011 - At GRAPH EXPO 2011, Bell and Howell will introduce JETVision Navigator, an innovative, next-generation inserting user interface. Using voice activation, touch-screen technology and active display modules, JETVision Navigator enables machine operators to consolidate inserter and accessory interfaces into a single controller, and simplify system operation to achieve greater efficiency and improve overall throughput.

JETVision Navigator improves production efficiency by optimizing the three main components of any production environment: the operator, the machine and the job. Using voice commands and other automated features, operators can send and receive machine status updates while efficiently working the machine. This helps the operator avoid the time-consuming tasks of searching for system errors and updates to production results. Combined with Bell and Howell's new Harmonix technology, also to be introduced at GRAPH EXPO 2011, real-time feedback and control of cycle speeds, automated start-up and end procedures offer unrivaled productivity.

"The advances made in this technology are on the same level as those made when the first smart phone was introduced," said Mark Paul, Bell and Howell director of vision technologies. "We believe that this innovation will change the way that operators interact and use production mail equipment."

JETVision Navigator also incorporates an active display module that tracks the operator's movement up and down the machine and automatically repositions for easy viewing, providing clear line of sight no matter where the operator is standing. JETVision Navigator provides maximum operator location flexibility by using a wireless panel or tablet display to enable local module setup or configuration from anywhere around a system. Additionally, live chat technologies have been integrated into the user interface to provide even faster response to any technical issue an operator may encounter.
