Speaking before House Congressional staffers yesterday, Ken Garner, President and CEO of the Mailing and Fulfillment Service Association (MFSA) emphasized, "our industry has members located in nearly every congressional district and employs more than 25,000 employees. We are a significant part of an industry valued at $1 Trillion, employing more than 7 Million workers. MFSA represents the heart' of the mailing community as we print, prepare, and process mail."

Part of Garner's testimony to the more than 50 Congressional staff members at the Rayburn House Office Building affirmed the importance of sustaining a healthy USPS now and in the future and to ensure the delivery of hard copy mail to every resident and business in America. Representative Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, closed the session with his support and comments to House staffers about the importance of a viable USPS.

MFSA was one of five organizations invited to speak before the Congressional staff. The other attendees who participated on the panel were the American Catalog Mailers Association, International Paper, National Newspaper Association, and Time Incorporated. This was one of four scheduled congressional briefings organized by the Coalition for a 21st Century Postal Service, an organization comprised of 21 member companies.
