Videojet Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of variable data printing and coding products and accessories, has agreed to acquire PRISM Incorporated (Duluth, Ga.), a developer of variable data control products for the printing, newspaper and mailing industries.

"PRISM's core competency in control systems for variable data complements Videojet's expertise in ink jet systems and fluids," says Craig Purse, president of Videojet Technologies Inc. "Videojet and PRISM have partnered on many business initiatives over the past three years, so the joining of these companies was a natural fit."

Videojet is a long-standing leader in providing ink jet and selective control systems for magazine, catalog and newspaper producers. PRISM is an industry leader in delivering control system capabilities for the newspaper market's highly selective target marketing initiatives.

PRISM will continue to operate as a separate business unit and will remain based in Duluth.
