The president of the American Postal Workers Union, William Burrus, announced at the union's national convention that he will not seek reelection in 2010. Mr. Burrus has enjoyed a 53-year career and has served as an executive officer of the APWU for 37 years. The end of Mr. Burrus' current term as president in November 2010 will coincide with the conclusion of negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement. The current contract expires on November 20, 2010.
