Spring Global Mail has appointed Rudy van Rillaer as Vice President Global Operations, a management team position whose scope and responsibilities have been defined as a direct result of an extensive network operations review project. Rudy will be responsible for the implementation of the project's recommendations that will bring key cost benefits and quality of service improvements. The phasing of these activities will see almost instant benefits and provide a more flexible and reliable network for Spring's customers.
A key recommendation of the review is to centralise management and control of the network and concentrate operational activities into two European hubs, Belgium and the United Kingdom. This also means that Spring will close the operational hub in Cologne, Germany. The German Country Team will remain and continue to serve our German customers to the same high standards that they have come to expect from Spring.
The changes to Spring's network operations are part of the long-term strategy of the company to remain best in class for cost effectiveness and service and to ensure that it remains flexible in the way it responds to changes in international volumes and requirements.
