BOLINGBROOK, IL, April 21, 2011 - Fairrington Transportation announced today the purchase of
a new SIM 36-pocket co-mailer for installation in its Bolingbrook IL consolidation center. The new
machine will have six - 272 Revolution feeders and 30 - SF505 Titan feeders. The rated speed of the
machine is 18,000 books per hour with an actual through put (speed of machine) of 12,000. Also
added to provide redundancy and increase through put are two - Rima Stackers and two - EAM
Mosca strappers as well as two labelers for paper label application.
Jim Reifenberg, Fairrington's vice president of sales, explained the unique design of the
custom-designed line, "Our due diligence showed that the pinch point in all Co-Mailing operations
has been the stackers and while we are not sure what the increase in through put will be, we know
that the redundancy of two will eliminate unnecessary down time. Further, we anticipate the eventual
deployment by the USPS of additional FSS sorting equipment which will render shrink-wrapped
bundles obsolete. This led to our decision to add the Mosca strapping option."
"We are excited to bring a Co-Mail solution to the industry that is backed by
Fairrington's reputation for reliable product delivery service," said Greg Rocque, president of
Fairrington. "Co-Mail can create a postage savings between 10 and 20 percent. Combined with
Fairrington's better than 96 percent on-time delivery rate, and our Co-Pal and DSMS services, we
intend to change the game for our clients, and the mailing industry."
Fairrington is the largest, full-service, single-source, printer-independent mailing logistics
provider in the United States. It is scheduled to deploy its Co-Mail operation in Fall of 2011.
