Lenexa, KS W+D North America Inc. the worldwide leader in envelope converting and direct mail inserting technology is pleased to announce that after completing nearly nine months of on-site production testing and refinement, Moore has agreed to move forward with purchase of an additional BB1000. The first proof of concept machine was unveiled at last years’ Printing United Show.
Moore is a global leader in performance-driven non-profit market marketing solutions. Direct mail is a crucial part of the non-profit fundraising marketing mix. Dave Johannes, Executive VP of Strategic Initiatives states, “When we first saw the W+D BB1000 running at the Printing United show we thought there was a real opportunity for this type of technology to improve Moore’s direct mail results, but we needed to put it through real production testing before we could be sure. Now after putting the machine through its’ paces, we believe it is ready for primetime. Moore and W+D worked closely together to enhance and improve the BB1000 technology and its’ functionality. Based on the modifications W+D has made and the addition of a window patching system we are moving forward with another machine. We are excited by the new marketing strategies the BB1000 creates for our customers”.
Michael Ring President of W+D North America notes, “As production inkjet moves more and more into the direct mail space, W+D saw a need for new envelope converting and finishing solutions for the commercial printers and mailers to leverage their data to improve targeting while controlling costs. The W+D BB1000 is an all-in-one solution that offers commercial mailers, a single converting and inserting workflow that speeds up the time-to-mailbox while reducing production touch points. The BB1000 produces a completely personalized direct mail letter package by utilizing digitally printed envelope rolls which are converted and inserted in a single pass on the BB1000. It's very rewarding for W+D when a market leader like Moore sees our vision and adopts our new technology”.
