The Alliance has written to Appropriations Committee leaders in the House of Representatives requesting the restoration of a $29 million Revenue Forgone appropriation to the Postal Service. Reacting to a move last week in the House that deleted the $29 million from the Postal Service's appropriations bill, the letter pointed out that the funding represents the payment of a debt owed the Postal Service for preferred rate mail it handled in the 1990s. The Alliance will continue to pursue this funding in the House and Senate to ensure the Postal Service receives the compensation it was promised in the Revenue Forgone Reform Act of 1993.
